Our Saturday...

Before I tell you about our day I wanted to share Jack's 3yr. old pictures. They are really his K-3 fall pictures from preschool, but since Hailey's school pics didn't turn out well enough for me to spend $$ on I decided to call these his 3yr. pics and I'm getting hers done when she turns 5 (next month!!). The people that come to do their pictures always do such a great job. They never look like school pictures and the backdrops are always different.
So here he is: My big boy, who told me he didn't want to grow up and get bigger. I told him that's just fine with me, he can be my baby for ever and ever!
Now moving on to our Saturday....
Hailey had been asking me since right after breakfast if we were going to go anywhere today.... I told her maybe Granma's, but later. I had so much laundry to put away and once we get to Granma's you can just forget about me getting anything done at our house. So....after many repeated questions about when we were going...she came out of her room dressed, coat on, bookbag packed, and two extra bags with toys in them....ready to go all by herself!! It was too cute so I couldn't resist. We called Granma and she told her she'd come pick her up. So Hailey went out front to wait....She looks like she's running away from home! She sat on a little cable line cover and waited about 15 minutes out in the cold wind. She was very happy though... When my mom and dad drove up they said she looked like she was sitting at the bus stop!! She had so much fun just hanging out with Granma. They played beauty salon. Painted nails and a REAL haircut!! I'll have to get a picture tomorrow. She was needing a good trim, and that's my mom for ya...when she can't stand to look at it anymore she just takes care of it herself :-) It looks beautiful though...Granma did a good job and Hailey had a blast with her!

Here's my Pedro....this is how he waits for Granma. He'll sit right at the door, won't come outside till she gets there. The garage was open and everything! He's such a good puppy....He'll even stay in the backyard with the gate wide open. I think he's just more timid than anything else!!!
While Hailey went to play....Papa drove his John Deere over to help us get control of our leaves!! They have dropped a ton this week. We are more than ankle deep and I just can't keep up with raking alone! So the tractor worked fabulously!! He did the whole front, side and most of the back in one hour!! Thanks Dad :-) I forgot what my grass looked like!
Jack had lots of fun helping Papa drive. He was pretty tired by the time I got the camera out so he doesn't look extremely thrilled in these pictures. We were down to the last few rows of leaves.
The best part was when my dad was done and ready to drive back home (all of one street over remember) Jack got to ride back with him!! He thought that was so cool. Both kids stayed at Granma and Papa's all afternoon and I was able to put a big dent in chores. Last week at least one person was sick with a stomach virus each day in our house so I had lots to catch up on. We are all better now and so is Grandma...she got it too!! Since then Hailey has become quite obsessed with germ passing and throwing up. She asks constantly if something is going to make someone sick and she advises all of us on the germ spreading issue. :-)
We all got together tonight to have homemade pizza at our house. Then the kids got out their new board game "Operation". It's a little different than when I had it 20yrs ago.....there are new pieces and now you have to listen to the sound to figure out what piece you have to take out: i.e. croaking sound....take out the 'frog' in the throat!! It's pretty funny. They had a really good time playing.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Saturday!!

Jack looks very handsome in his picture. Allyson's daycare did a Fall-themed picture, too. I put one in my wallet. I'll show you tonight. That was a cute story about Hailey waiting for Gramma! Allyson will be staying with her nana & papa next weekend. Yay! :)

Even the dog looks more grown up! I have Noah's school pics which were so cute, but I hated Sage's first grade pictures, and I didn't order them. I felt mildly guilty so thanks for saying you didn't order any of Hailey's! Sage's school does spring pics too so hopefully that one will be better.

You are so lucky to live so close to your parents! Love the picture of Hailey and her scrunched up face. She's so cute.

I loved the first picture of Jack! And the story about Hailey is just as funny now as it was yesterday when you told me. Too comments from me on the same post! Whoo-hoo!

Jack's pictures are so good! He's such a cute little man. Looks like Hailey had a great day with Granma. (I'm sure it was a much needed break for Mommy, too!)

Jack's pictures were so cute. That's so sweet that Hailey was waiting outside for Gramma. I lived about that close to my grandparents when I was little and I remember being excited to visit them too. Grandparents are the best!
