Six Word Memoir

Jenny tagged me to write my 6-word memoir…it was a lot harder than I thought…

This idea came from the book by Larry Smith and Rachel Fershleiser called Not Quite What I Was Planning: Six-Word Memoirs by Writers Famous and Obscure. The book is a compilation that is based on the story that Hemingway once bet ten dollars that he could sum up his entire life in just six words. His words? For Sale: baby shoes, never worn.

Here are the rules:
1. Write your own six word memoir.
2. Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you’d like.
3. Link to the person that tagged you in your post and to this original post if possible so we can track it as it travels across the blogosphere.
4. Tag five more blogs with links.
5. And don’t forget to leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play!

My six words: Blessings overflowing; Love till it hurts.

I picked this as my memoir because I do have more blessings than I ever could have imagined and sometimes I catch myself thinking it's too good to be true and something bad is bound to happen. But in 1 John 3:21-23 it says, Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. And this is His commandment, "that we should believe on the name of His son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment." And the Love till it hurts part....well that just happens when you realize what real love is. When you hold your baby and there's this ache in your chest and you want them to grow and learn but at the same time it just kills you to know they are getting older. And you see your husband for the first time as a dad, that's the best, that's when it hurts and you know it's real....blessings overflowing...

I tag:
1. Amber
2. Sarah
3. Dawn
4. Tabby
5. Andrea

Have fun! If you do decide to play, please leave a comment so we can go check it out. And, if you were not tagged and want to do it anyway that is great too. Just leave a comment and let us know!

If I didn't have a one-year-old climbing all over me as I type comments, then maybe I could proofread before I post them!
